Roots Organics Terp Tea is a popular choice among cannabis growers looking to enhance the flavor and potency of their plants. In this blog post, we’ll delve into what Roots Organics Terp Tea is, how it works, its different varieties, and how it can increase the terpene profile and overall quality of your cannabis plants. We’ll also cover instructions on how to best use Roots Organics Terp Tea for optimal results.

What is Roots Organics Terp Tea?
Roots Organics Terp Tea is a specially formulated blend of dry, organic ingredients designed to promote healthy plant growth and enhance the natural aromas of cannabis plants. It’s made from high-quality, all-natural ingredients including fish meal, fishbone meal, guano, non-GMO soybean meal, kelp meal, aged manure, rock phosphate, kieserite, langbeinite, dolomite, humic acids, along with a consortium of beneficial bacteria and mycorrhizal fungi that are carefully selected to provide essential nutrients and increase the health of your plants.

How Does Roots Organics Terp Tea Work?
Roots Organics Terp Tea works by providing a balanced mix of nutrients, vitamins, and beneficial microbes that support root development, nutrient uptake, and overall plant health. The blend contains ingredients like fish meal, guano, kelp meal, and other organic compounds like humic acids that contribute to a thriving microbial ecosystem in the soil or growing medium. The organic amendments in Terp Tea provide some immediate nutrition, but these amendments need to be broken down into plant available forms for them to be fully absorbed. This is where the beneficial microbes do their work, breaking down the organic amendments in the Terp Tea and making them into an available form the plants can use. The purpose of brewing the Terp Tea for 24 hours is to multiply the beneficial bacteria colonies so there are an abundant amount of different species to help cycle and break down nutrients and minerals into absorbable forms for the plant, while the mycorrhizal fungi stimulate microbial activity while increasing plants ability to uptake water and nutrients. These microbes also help fight and suppress pathogen issues, like root rot or fusarium. When used as directed, Roots Organics Terp Tea helps improve soil structure, increase nutrient availability, and enhance the terpene profile of cannabis plants. The result is healthier, more robust plants with improved flavor, aroma, and potency.

Different Varieties of Roots Organics Terp Tea
Roots Organics offers several varieties of Terp Tea to cater to different stages of plant growth and specific nutrient needs:

(1) Original Terp Tea Grow 7-1-1 – Formulated for the vegetative stage, this blend promotes strong root development, lush foliage, and vigorous growth. Best to use throughout the vegetative stage of growth and then during the first 3 weeks of flower paired with Terp Tea Bloom.

(2) Original Terp Tea Bloom 3-7-4 – Designed for the flowering stage, this blend supports robust bud development, increased resin production, and enhanced terpene expression. Best to use one week before plants go into flower through the 6th-7th week of flower.

(3) Original Terp Tea Bloom Booster 0.5-6-18– Formulated for the later stages of flowering, when flowers are ripening. This proprietary ratio of potent ingredients supplements flowering plants in the later stages of development, supporting blossom vigor. Best to use starting the 4th week of flower through the 7th week of flower. Best paired with Terp Tea Bloom for Weeks 4, 5, and 6 and then by itself for Week 7 if needed.

Enhancing Terpene Profile and Potency
One of the key benefits of using Roots Organics Terp Tea is its ability to enhance the terpene profile of cannabis plants. Terpenes, aldehydes, esters, volatile sulfur compounds are some of the aromatic compounds found in plants that contribute to their unique aromas. By providing a rich source of organic nutrients with minerals like sulfur and beneficial microbes, Terp Tea encourages the production of terpenes and other compounds that results in a more complex and robust aroma or “nose”. Additionally, the improved nutrient uptake and overall health of the plants can result in the increased production of more secondary metabolites, including higher levels of cannabinoids. This can result in a more potent and enjoyable cannabis experience for consumers.

How to Use Roots Organics Terp Tea

Step 1.

Find yourself a clean bucket that will fit the desired amount of tea you are brewing, leaving room for some airspace. In this example, we are using a food-grade 5-gallon bucket so that we can make approximately 2-gallons of Terp Tea.

Step 2.

Now is the time to connect your air pump with your air stone using tubing. We use the air pump to force air through the air stone, providing the bubbling action needed to brew your tea.

For this example, we are using and air pump & air stone from Active Aqua and some aquarium-safe tubing.

Once connected to your pump, place the air stone in the center of the bottom of your bucket, so that it will be fully submerged in water.

Step 3.

It’s important to use long enough tubing to allow your air pump to be positioned ABOVE your bucket the entire time your tea is brewing. Having the pump sit higher than the stone will prevent any accidental back-flow.

Step 4.

Now is the time to add in your water. In this step, we are adding 2 gallons of water that has already been dechlorinated for 24 hours.

If you’re using water straight from your tap, this is when you will want to leave your water out for at least 24 hours to off-gas any chlorine before moving on to the next step.

Step 5.

Once your air stone is fully submerged, turn on your air pump so that the air stone is generating ample amounts of bubbles. We encourage turning on your air pump prior to adding in Terp Tea to prevent any sediment from settling in the small pores of your air stone.

Step 6.

Now is time to add in your Roots Organic Terp Tea. Mix 1 tablespoon of Terp Tea powder per 1 gallon of water.

In this example, we are making 2-gallons of Roots Organic Bloom Terp Tea, so we are putting in 2-tablespoons of Terp Tea.

Step 7.

After adding in your dry Terp Tea powder, stir gently to ensure all the sediment has dissolved and is thoroughly mixed.

* You can add a sugar/prebiotic source like un-sulphured molasses or coconut water at a rate of 1-2 Tablespoons per gallon of water to feed the microbes and help them multiply at a faster rate

Step 8.

Lightly cover your brewing tea to prevent other particles from getting entering, and allow the bubbling to continue for 24 hours. As the bacteria multiply, you should notice a foaming-action occurring.

After 24 hours of brewing, turn off your air pump, remove the air stone, and now you can either water the tea directly into your soil, or dilute 1:1 with plain water to make a weaker tea that can be used to feed many plants. Any remaining powder/sledge can be scooped up and used to top-dress your plants.

*Ensure to thoroughly clean your bucket and air stone after brewing a tea so that your’e ready for the next brew!

TOPDRESS METHOD:

Roots Organics Terp Tea can also be mixed into your soil mix or added to the top of your soil as a topdressing; Simply sprinkle 1 Teaspoon to 1 Tablespoon of the Terp Tea powder per gallon of soil, ensuring even distribution, then water across the entire surface.

In conclusion, Roots Organics Terp Tea is a valuable tool for cannabis growers seeking to enhance the quality and potency of their flower.

With its organic ingredients, balanced nutrient profile, beneficial microbes, and ability to boost terpene production, Terp Tea offers an organic, effective way to unlock the full potential of your cannabis plants. Experiment with different varieties and application methods to discover the best approach for your growing environment and goals.
