Sativa Remedy in the Media

NYS Cannabis Insider – People to Know

Nhi Kha is the CEO of Sativa Remedy Hemp Dispensary in Buffalo. She answered eight simple questions for NY Cannabis Insider’s “People to know” series.

What is your position and what do you/your company do in the cannabis space?

I am currently the CEO and Co-founder of Sativa Remedy Hemp Dispensary. Founded in 2018, Sativa Remedy is a minority women-owned licensed hemp dispensary. At Sativa Remedy, we focus on education and expert guidance to empower cannabis consumers to take control of their health, well-being, and quality of life. We provide a curated selection of hemp products all vetted and tested for quality, safety, potency, and most importantly access and affordability. Our team is dedicated to helping our community find their Remedy with education and guidance every step of the way. I hope to continue growing our platform and to apply to become a licensed adult-use cannabis retailer when regulations and licensing are available.

From pre-med to cannabis entrepreneur: Nhi Kha says Sativa Remedy is just beginning

Nhi Kha immigrated with her family from Vietnam to Buffalo in the late 1990s through Journey’s End Refugee Services.

She graduated from Hutchinson Central Technical High School in 2012 and went to the University at Buffalo, where she started on the path to becoming a doctor. She graduated with degrees in chemistry and health and human services.

In the meantime, something terrible happened: Kha’s father was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. While they couldn’t afford medical marijuana, non-psychoactive cannabis products were a major relief. He died about two years ago, and she now is honoring his memory by building a business.

Kha and her partner, John Frazier, founded Sativa Remedy in 2017 and operate the business from a storefront on Main Street in Tonawanda.

From high-quality CBD products to consultative selling, the business has grown steadily even in an industry with constantly shifting standards and regulations.
