Description
Hibiscus teas are made from dried parts of the hibiscus flower. Its sweet but tart flavor has a similar taste to cranberries. There are more than 200 species of Hibiscus flower, mostly growing in tropical areas. Hibiscus is high in vitamin C, which supports a healthy immune system, and also contains antioxidants, to help protect the naturally occurring effects of oxidative stress.
Another important ingredient in this tea is dried cranberry, which is known to be a powerful superfood for being high in nutrients and antioxidants.
There are a variety of herbs and flavors, such as stevia, lemongrass, and spearmint, all with their own added benefits and effects. Stevia has been used for thousands of years by the Guarani tribe for its benefits, as well as reducing the bitterness of teas, and is a healthier substitution for sugar.
Directions: Bring 8-12oz fresh water to a boil. Pour over the bag. Good for 1-3 cups or a kettle. Steep 3-5 minutes and increase steep time as desired. Enhance by adding fats and honey.
Highbiscus tea has no caffeine, so it’s recommended for any time of day.
